Biography
A founding member of Mitchell Sandler and a trusted legal advisor to the financial services industry for more than 30 years, Andy has represented banks, financial service companies, and mortgage finance and servicing companies in regulatory examinations, enforcement actions and litigation involving federal and state banking regulators, government enforcement agencies and private litigants. He has been a strategic advisor to boards and senior management on regulatory and governance issues and provides strategic advice to the financial services industry, including fintech companies and investors.
Chambers USA recognized Andy as “one of the leading stars of the financial services regulatory firmament.” Legal Times named him as a “Legal Visionary” for his role in founding and leading Buckley Sandler and as “Deal Maker of the Year” for his regulatory advice in navigating complex transactions. Andy has been a Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year nominee for his work representing the Navajo Nation in a breach of trust action against the United States resulting in a landmark $554 million settlement.
Andy is also an entrepreneur and investor. He leads Temerity Capital Partners, which invests in and advises early-stage companies developing new technologies in financial services. He is also the founder and CEO of Asurity Technologies and was a founder and CEO of Treliant, a strategic consulting and advisory firm that he sold in 2017. He currently owns two minor league baseball teams.
